Speech/Language Pathology Assistants work with Speech/Language Pathologists to help students with sound system disorders, speech fluency, and language impairments.  They perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

• following and implementing treatment plans created by the SLP
• preparing therapy materials and equipment
• adapting instructional materials for students
• organizing classroom activities
• promoting early identification and intervention
• supporting the SLP with research

Requirements:

BS Comm. Sciences and Disorders from program ASHA approved to grant Master's SLP degrees OR BS in other area with a total of 21 hours in five speech/language areas; 25 hours of SLP observation; and 25 hours of SLP clinical assisting or practicum.

Speech Language Pathology-Assistant Registration issued by Missouri Board of Healing Arts
